We, Gary and wife Gene, started Backyard Birds in 1995 and are in the same store location where we started, located on Main Street near the heart of downtown Plymouth, MI.  Birdfeeding was at the center of our business when we first opened, and it still is.  

Backyard Birds offers an unusually large selection of fresh bird seed, all without the fillers found in bird seed sold in the big stores.   Our array of seed options is backed up by our large collection of bird feeders - the greatest selection of different feeders anywhere around us.   And we are always delighted to give assistance and advice to help you choose seed and feeders that match your objectives.

Our theory of business is built around putting the FUN into bird feeding and watching!  If you make it into a “job,” then no one –not the birds and certainly not you, will enjoy the experience.  We welcome all bird and nature lovers, and we love talking with folks who come in with questions about birds or wildlife, or who bring in stories, news or pictures to share.
